5.2 Install Electrical Devices:
Electrical Devices may be installed BEFORE or AFTER Poke-Through is
inserted into hole. Figure 13 shows Electrical Devices being installed
BEFORE inserting Poke-Through into hole. For illustration, Figure 13 shows
(2) gangs using Electrical Devices. (See Figure 7 Junction Box
Configuration.) THHN electrical wire and electrical devices are not
furnished with Poke-through.
5.2.1 Remove side mounting ears from electrical devices to be installed in the
Poke Through (See Figures 9, 10, and 11).
5.2.2 Cut insulated electrical conductors and ground wires (use type THHN of
required gauge (AWG) and color) to 16 inches long. Strip insulation off
ends of wire as required to make connections to Devices
(See Figure 12).
5.2.3 Attach a HOT, NEUTRAL and GROUND wire to each electrical device.
Confirm all used and un-used screws (clamping and grounding) are
tight against electrical device body (See Figure 13).
5.2.4 Locate the Gang (compartment) that corresponds to Junction Box
configuration (See Section 4.0) and feed device(s) and wires down
through top of Poke-Through, through Silicone Fabric Barrier, and into
Junction Box (See Figure 13).
5.2.5 Place proper covers over device and secure with screws furnished with
Device. If Duplex is used, place a Duplex Insert Plate over Device before
attaching Cover. Screws must pass through holes in Device Plates, holes
in Device and thread into tapped holes in 3-Gang Recessed Mounting
Surface. (See Figures 10 and 13).
