INSTALLING/REMOVING 40V BATTERIES
See Figure 7.
There are two additional 40 volt battery ports that can help
extend the run time of the zero turn lawnmower. However,
these additional batteries are not required to operate the
zero turn mower.
NOTE: The zero turn mower will not operate on only 40 volt
batteries. The unit must have operable 80 volt batteries to
run the drive and blade motors.
Open the battery ports located on each side of the mower.
While depressing the battery latch, grasp the handle and
raise the battery from the port.
To install, align the raised ribs on the battery pack with
grooves in the battery port and install the battery pack
into the mower.
Make sure the latch is securely locked into place.
Repeat the steps for additional batteries if necessary.
WARNING:
Make sure the latch on the bottom of the battery packs
snaps in place and the battery pack is fully seated and
secure in the mower's battery port before beginning
operation. Failure to securely seat the battery packs could
cause the battery packs to fall out, resulting in serious
personal injury.
For complete charging instructions, refer to the Operator's
Manuals for your battery packs and charger models.
CHARGING THE MOWER
See Figure 8.
WARNING:
Only charge mower batteries indoors in a dry location. Do
not charge battery or expose mower to rain or damp loca-
tions. Water and liquids can come in contact with mower
components and the battery and damage connections
and electronic components, which can result in a short
circuit, increased risk of fire, and serious personal injury.
Mower batteries must be fully charged before first use. To
verify mower batteries are fully charged, check the battery
level indicator.
For best results:
Do not charge in an area of extreme heat or cold.
Never charge a frozen battery.
Mount or place the charger in an area with adequate
ventilation, ideally with the charger in a horizontal position
with the cooling fins facing up.
