ASSISTING A STRANDED USER
If a user becomes stranded on the stairlift for any reason,
they should be assisted from the chair in the following way:
1.
Lift a manual swivel lever and rotate the chair so that the
user faces up the stairs. Never exit without turning the seat
towards the staircase and ensuring it locks into position.
2.
Release the safety belt for the user to leave the stairlift. The
user should always exit upwards.
HAND WINDING THE STAIRLIFT (13)
In exceptional circumstances, where the lift is causing an
obstruction, you may be advised to hand wind the stairlift
using the supplied winding handle.
The stairlift should only be hand-wound by, or under the
supervision of, a trained engineer, this could be done over
the phone. In some circumstances this can cause damage to
the stairlift which will not be covered under your guarantee or
warranty.
1.
Turn off the stairlift and remove the circular plastic cover and
Insert the hand-wind tool provided as pictured and locate
onto the mechanism.
2.
On a left-handed lift, rotate anticlockwise to move the lift
upwards and on a right-handed lift rotate clockwise to move
the lift upwards.
Do not run this stairlift without
the covers properly fitted.
Failure to adhere to this will
cause severe damage to the
stairlift that will not be covered
by your product warranty.
