Features
Coreless direct drive motor and "ΔΣ-Drive",
new-generation motor drive technology, to
achieve high precision, stable rotation and
high reliability
 The adoption of coreless direct drive motor and highly
precise motor control technology reduces minute
vibration and achieves high reliability during rotation while
maintaining high torque.
 In line with the design concept of the top-tier SL-1000R
model and to minimize unwanted vibration caused by
the motor, a reinforcing pattern has been created on the
stator board to increase rigidity.
 The newly developed Δ Σ-Drive motor drive circuit
technology suppresses minute vibration caused by the
motor and further reduces the transmission of vibration to
the stylus tip on the record.
A turntable with high rigidity and
improved vibration damping capacity
 A brass weight and aluminum die-cast plate are tightly
integrated and then backed by a rubber sheet to prevent
unnecessary resonance. This three-layer structure provides a
large inertial mass, high rigidity, and excellent vibration damping
capacity. Furthermore, products are adjusted one by one using a
high-precision balancer to minimize unwanted vibration due to
decentering, thus achieving smooth, stable rotation.
The tone arm with high-precision bearings
achieves high initial-motion sensitivity
 The tone arm pipe made of light, highly rigid aluminum as well
as the traditional Technics gimbal suspension construction and
high-precision bearings attain high initial-motion sensitivity.
Vibration-proof cabinet and insulators
 The two-layered cabinet is made by tightly integrating a chassis
made from BMC that has high specific gravity and rigidity with
an aluminum die-cast top plate that has a special rib pattern on
its back to increase the rigidity and vibration damping capacity.
The special silicon rubber insulators providing excellent vibration
damping capacity and long-term reliability reduce external
vibration and suppress unwanted effect on the sound quality.
Newly designed low-noise power supply
to suppress external noise
 We have adopted the newly designed low-noise switching
power supply which utilizes the know-how for Technics
Grand Class amplifiers/digital players and the noise
removal circuit of the top-tier SL-1000R model.
