Venting Requirements
1. The ventilation system must be vented to the outside through the roof or exterior wall.
2. Use only metal/aluminum vents, do not use plastic vents.
3. Always keep the ducts clean to ensure proper airflow.
4. It is recommended to use at least 6-inch round ducts.
5. The vent size should preferably be kept free of obstructions.
6. Minimize the use of 90° elbows.
7. The length of the ventilation system and the number of elbows should be kept to a
minimum to provide efficient performance.
8. The ventilation system must be equipped with a damper. If the roof or wall cover
is equipped with a damper. The damper on the top outlet of the range hood (if
provided) may not be used.
9. Use aluminum foil tape to seal all joints in the ventilation system.
10. Use caulk to seal the exterior wall or roof opening around the cover.
