SYSTÈMES D'ÉVACUATION

Si une chaudière est retirée d'un système d'évacuation
commun, l'amplitude de ce système risque d'être excessive
pour l'évacuation des autres appareils qui y sont connectés.
Les étapes suivantes doivent être suivies pour tout appareil
déjà connecté au système d'évacuation commun en fonction
lors du retrait d'une chaudière. Ces appareils raccordés au
système doivent être éteints lors de l'exécution de ces étapes.
If an existing boiler is removed from a common venting
system, the common venting system may then be too large for
the proper venting of the remaining appliances connected to it.
At the time of removal of an existing boiler, the following steps
shall be followed with each appliance remaining connected to
the common venting system placed in operation.
a)
Scellez toutes les ouvertures non utilisées du système
d'évacuation.
Seal any unused openings in the common venting
system.
b)
Inspectez le système d'évacuation au niveau des
dimensions et des inclinaisons et vérifiez s'il y a présence
d'une obstruction, d'une fuite, de corrosion ou de tout autre
défaillance qui pourrait provoquer une situation non
sécuritaire.
Visually inspect the venting system for proper size and
horizontal pitch and determine there is no blockage or
restriction, leakage, corrosion and other deficiencies
which could cause an unsafe condition.
c)
Dans la mesure du possible, fermez toutes les portes et
fenêtres entre les appareils déjà connectés au système
d'évacuation commun et les autres espaces du bâtiment.
Faites fonctionner les sécheuses et les autres appareils
non connectés au système d'évacuation commun.
Faites fonctionner à vitesse maximale tout ventilateur
d'évacuation tels que les ventilateurs de salle de bain
et les hottes de cuisine. Ne faites pas fonctionner de
ventilateur d'évacuation d'été pour l'installation d'une
chaudière. Fermez les registres des cheminées de foyer.
Insofar as is practical, close all building doors and windows
and all doors between the space in which the appliances
remaining connected to the common venting system are
located and other spaces of the building. Turn on clothes
dryers and any appliance not connected to the common
venting system. Turn on any exhaust fans, such as range
hoods and bathroom exhaust, so they will operate at
maximum speed. Do not operate a summer exhaust fan
for a boiler installation. Close fireplace dampers.
d)
Mettez l'appareil inspecté en service. Suivez les
instructions d'allumage. Réglez le thermostat de manière
à ce que l'appareil fonctionne en continu.
Place in operation the appliance being inspected. Follow
the lighting instructions. Adjust thermostat so appliance
will operate continuously.
e)
Une fois qu'il a été déterminé que chaque appareil
raccordé au système d'évacuation commun évacue
correctement l'air durant le test mentionné ci-dessus,
remettez les portes, les fenêtres, les ventilateurs
d'extraction, les registres de cheminée et tout autre
appareil fonctionnant au gaz à leur position initiale.
After it has been determined that each appliance
remaining connected to the common venting system
properly vents when tested as outlined above, return
doors, windows, exhaust fans, fireplace dampers and any
other gas-burning appliance to their previous condition of
use.
f)
Tout fonctionnement anormal du système d'évacuation
commun doit être corrigé afin que l'installation soit
conforme au National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA
54. Si la dimension d'une section du système
d'évacuation commun doit être modifiée, le système doit
être redimensionné pour se rapprocher de la taille
minimale appropriée à l'aide des tableaux de l'annexe F
du National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 ou
des codes d'installation CSA B149.
Any improper operation of the common venting system
should be corrected so the installation conforms with the
National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54. When
resizing any portion of the common venting system, the
common venting system should be resized to approach the
minimum size as determined using the appropriate tables
in Appendix F in the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/
NFPA 54 and or CSA B149 Installation Codes.
