Trigger mode

In order to achieve optimum colour detection, the entire white light spot from the colour sensor FT 50 C...S1L8 must
appear on the colour to be detected.
However this cannot always be guaranteed with colour overlaps. This can cause an erroneous colour interpretation
when the overlap occurs.
This can in turn result in a short activation of a signal output or cause errors in the processing of groups or codes.
To avoid this, the colour sensor should, in critical cases, be triggered directly by or via the operating terminal. With
triggering via the operating terminal, the switch signal is sent from the trigger sensor to the trigger input on the colour
sensor FT 50 C...S1L8 via the terminals Trigger IN and Trigger OUT only.
Triggering means that an additional trigger sensor (e.g. FT 20 RL) checks when the object (colour) is positioned in
front of the colour sensor FT 50 C...S1L8 so that it is fully covered by the white light spot. In this case the trigger
sensor activates colour scanning by the colour sensor. If it is not the case, the colour sensor is virtually deactivated.
To use trigger mode, the colour sensor FT 50 C...S1L8 must be set accordingly via its own key menu. PIN 8 is pro-
grammed as trigger input. See the colour sensor's operating manual.

Special functions

Special functions make it easier to set the terminal to the respective application or to reset the terminal to factory
setting.
Set-up is carried out via the operating menu:
Press key 3 s until the submenu "Functions" appears.
Activate the key (next). The set-up mode can now be modified with the arrow keys. Set the "Special" mode and
