LET'S LEARN HOW TO TELL THE TIME
In one day there are 24 hours. In half a day there are 12 hours, and after that they are numbered from 13 to 24.
If both hands point to the number 12 then it's midday. If both hands point to 24 then its midnight.
The hours from numbers 1 to 12
are Ante Meridian, which means
before midday, while the hours
from number 13 to 24 are Post
Meridian, which means after
midday. Clocks with hands only
show the numbers from 1 to 12.
With Primo Clock you can learn
the hours after midday by insert-
ing blue pegs directly onto the
clock face.
In English speaking countries, the
numbers from 1 to 12 are usually
used. To specify which part of the
day it is, they say AM (before mid-
day) or PM (after midday). So 2:45
AM is 2:45 in the morning, while
2:45 PM is the same as 14:45 (2:45
in the afternoon).
The hour hand, the shorter one,
shows the hours. For example,
in the image shown here it is
pointing to 4. Over the next 60
minutes, the hour hand will move
until it gets to 5, and so on.
