The wearing of an in-the-ear hearing aid may
accelerate the accumulation of ear wax. This can
easily be removed by your physician. Regular annual
visits are recommended. You should not use cotton
swabs to clean your ears, due to the risk of pushing
the wax deeper into the ear canal.
Caring for Your Hearing Aid
The tip may need to be changed if it becomes stiff, brittle,
kinked or damaged. It should always be changed every
three months, at the very least. Your Sonetik Specialist
should change the ear tip. This is to prevent the tip from
detaching from the hearing aid during insertion into the
ear. If your Sonetik Specialist instructs you to change
the tip yourself, make sure it is securely fastened to the
hearing aid before inserting it into your ear.
It is important to replace the ear wax filter as soon as it
has become clogged, or after one week.
Hearing aids are exposed to moisture in the form of humidity
and perspiration while being worn. The daily use of a
dehumidifying kit with a drying capsule is recommended.
Your Sonetik Specialist may carry these accessories for you
to purchase or recommend a place of purchase to you.
