door should fully seat within the frame recess (See
). If the door is NOT centered and it binds or overhangs onto the
frame, additional adjustments will be needed.
Installer #1 and #2: Position shims between the attic ladder side frame at the header end on one side of the frame to move
the frame slightly and square the ladder. Installers may need to repeat the process of adjusting the frame side to side at the
header/hinge end until the door is centered and opens and closes cleanly within the frame recess.
Note: Install
shims as
needed to
square frame.

S. Installer #1: Carefully open the door and make sure the spreader bars are fully extended to avoid unexpected door
closure. Be sure the header hinge does not move. Installer #2: Drill 5/32" diameter by 3" deep pilot holes into the header
