THERMOSTAT WIRE CONNECTION
The thermostat wires connect to the two
wires sticking out of the back of the burner
control box as seen in the image on the right.
THERMOSTAT PLACEMENT
There is no specific thermostat mounting
location. The most popular location is on a
wall about 10 – 20 feet away.
NOTE: Be careful not to run the thermostat
cable where it will get overheated.
STEP 1
➢
Cut thermostat wire to desired length.
➢
Strip the outer layer a few inches to expose the white and red conductor wires at both ends of the cable.
➢
Strip the outer layer of the white and red conductor wires to expose ¼" of the copper wire.
STEP 2
➢
Slide the male and female bullet connectors over the white and red wires to cover the exposed
copper wire. Connect either the male or female to the white wire and the other to the red wire.
Polarity does not matter.
➢
Crimp the connectors to the copper wires to secure them in place.
STEP 3
➢
Connect the male bullet connector of the thermostat wire into the female bullet connector of the
thermostat wire coming out of the SunFire burner box.
➢
Connect the female bullet connector of the thermostat wire into the male bullet connector of the
thermostat wire coming out of the SunFire burner box.
STEP 4
➢
Mount the thermostat per its instructions and run the cable from the SunFire to the thermostat.
➢
NOTE: Take care when running the cable not to create a trip hazard, or damage the cable by mounting it with
staples, etc.
➢
At the thermostat, connect the white wire to the terminal labeled with a W and the red wire to the terminal
with an R. See the images below for examples using two different basic thermostats.
