- extreme temperatures,
- strong vibration,
- high mechanical loads,
- direct sunlight,
- magnetic surroundings.
The product may otherwise be damaged.
• Protect the product from electrostatic charge / discharge. This could interfere with
internal data exchange and cause errors in the LCD readout.
• Do not allow anyone lacking experience to use the product.
• Make sure that anyone intending to use the product has read the instructions for
use and is capable of operating the product safely.
• Magnetic fields may cause the product to malfunction. In this case briefly re-
move the battery from the product and reinsert. Please refer to section "Installing/
changing batteries".
Battery Handling Safety Precautions
• If your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid, flush out the affected areas
with water and seek medical assistance.
• Protect the batteries from excessive heat.
•
Risk of explosion! Never throw batteries into a fire.
• Do not disassemble, split or crush the batteries.
• Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
•
Choking hazard! Small children may swallow and choke on batteries. Store
the batteries out of the reach of small children.
• Keep batteries away from children and pets. Batteries may be harmful if swallowed.
Should a child or pet swallow a battery, seek medical assistance immediately.
• Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) polarity signs.
• If a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the battery compartment
with a dry cloth.
• Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
• If the batteries in the device are depleted or the device is not to be used for a long
period, take the batteries out of the battery compartment.
• Use identical or equivalent battery types only. Do not mix different types of batteries
together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc or rechargeable batteries) or old batteries
with fresh ones.
