Concerning the Remote Control
Battery installation (not included) and
removal
Remove the batteries by pulling the © side of the battery up.
Battery life
The battery life is about one year.
Battery life depends on how often the/emote control is used, but the
batteries should be replaced once a year on average.
The batteries should be replaced if commands from the remote con¬
trol transmitter do not operate the unit even when the transmitter is
held close to the front panel.
Use of batteries
• Do not use rechargeable type batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types
(manganese and alkaline, etc.).
•Always remove old, weak or worn-out batteries promptly and dis¬
pose of them properly.
• Never subject batteries to excessive heat or flame; do not attempt
to disassemble them, and be sure they are not short-circuited.
• If this unit is not to be used for a long period of time or is used only
from an AC power source, remove the batteries and store them in
a cool, dark place.
• If a battery leaks, remove all batteries and dispose of them proper¬
ly-
•Thoroughly clean the battery compartment before inserting new
batteries.
• If the electrolyte comes into contact with skin or clothes, flush with
water immediately.
• Keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Do not attempt to recharge alkaline or manganese batteries.
• Batteries installed incorrectly may leak and damage the unit.

Operation caution
• Do not expose the remote control signal sensor to direct sunlight
or bright fluorescent lighting.
• Keep the remote control signal sensor and end of the remote con¬
trol free from dust.
Opening/Closing the Top Panels
Press [TOP PANEL OPEN ▲] to open panel.
The display light comes on.
Press [TOP PANEL CLOSE ▼] to close the panel.
The display light goes out.
When this unit is operated on battery power, the panel cannot be
opened or closed by pressing
[TOP PANEL OPEN
▲) or
[TOP
PANEL CLOSE
V] on the remote control, in the unit off mode. Turn
the unit on first by pressing [([)/!] on the main unit before opening or
closing the panel.
Do not put anything on the top panel. Fire or malfunction can
be caused if an object falls inside the unit.
Using Headphones Q
Lower the volume and connect the headphones (not in¬
cluded).
