8. MAINTENANCE.
This part of the manual is important for the correct use of welding equipment. It does not
contain specific maintenance instructions as this machine does not require routine maintenance
service. The precautions to be taken into account are the usual ones for any electric welding
equipment.
Blow out dust with clean, dry compressed air regularly. The compressed air must not be too
powerful, as it can damage fragile components inside the machine.
If the machine works in high pollution environments, it will need more regular cleaning.
It is recommended to avoid shocks and any form of exposing the machine to falls, sources of
excessive heat, or other situations.
In case of transport and / or storage, the welding equipment should not be exposed to
temperatures outside the range: -10ºC to + 40ºC and air humidity higher than 90%.
Avoid water and steam in the vicinity of the machine. If water enters the machine, DO NOT USE
IT, until you make sure it is completely dry.
In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, do not attempt to repair it unless you have the
proper technical qualifications and tools. Contact one of our technical services, which you will
find on our website www.grupocevik.es.
Maintenance or repair performed by unauthorized technical services will void and terminate the
manufacturer's warranty.
9. TROUBLESHOOTING.
Failure
The operation indicator is not lit, the fan
is not running, and there is no welding
current output.
CAUTION: DO NOT TAP the electrode on
the piece as the coating could be damaged, making
it more difficult to attract the arc. Once the arc is
achieved, try to maintain a distance from the piece
equivalent to the diameter of the electrode used,
and keep this distance as constant as possible
during welding, remembering that the forward
inclination of the electrode must be between 20
and 30 degrees.
CAUTION: Always use a clamp to remove
the consumed electrodes and discard them in a
metal container free of flammable elements.
Make sure to use the proper tools and hand
protection when handling the parts once
welded, as the high temperatures reached
during the welding process may remain in the
welded pieces, accessories and tools for an
extended period of time. Unplug the machine
and pick up the cables once the work is finished
to avoid accidents.
Possible solution.
Make sure the switch is in the ON position and the power cord
has power on.
