7. Reverse Connection: The earth clamp to the "-" polarity, and the electrode holder to the "+"
polarity.
8. Choose the appropriate connection based on the job to be done. Improper connection will
cause an unstable arc, more spatter, and clumping. If such problems occur, change the polarity.
9. Make sure your power supply is the correct voltage for this machine or is within the allowable
range.
10. The machine is now ready for start-up.
7. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.
Turn on the machine by pushing the start switch to the ON position, the display will show the set
welding current intensity and the fan will start to run. Adjust the welding current intensity according to
the work to be done.
ELECTRODE WELDING PROCESS.
The electric arc increases the temperature of the materials to their melting point, allowing the electrode
to provide the material that, when melted, attaches to the metal pieces to be welded.
During the process, the coating of the electrode generates a gas that stabilizes the current arc,
protecting the welding from contamination, and is deposited as slag on the weld bead.
EXECUTION OF WELDING WITH COATED ELECTRODE.
After having made all the necessary electrical connections, both the power cable and the welding cables,
and having selected the electrode diameter and current intensity, proceed as follows:
1. Electrode
2. Coating
3. Nucleus
4. Electric arc
5. Protective gas
6. Melted metal
7. Slag
8. Weld bead
Fix the uncoated end of the electrode in the
electrode holder and connect the ground clamp to
the piece to be welded, always ensuring poper
electrical contact. Cover your eyes and face with the
protection screen and try to rub the tip of the
electrode on the piece to be welded, following a
movement as if you wanted to light a match; This is
the most correct method to generate the arc.
Replace the electrode when its tip is only 2-3 cm
away from the electrode holder.
