Installation (Continued)
2
For safety purpose, pre-drilled mounting holes are provided through the back of the
hood. For a more secure installation, use as many mounting holes as needed to secure
from the inside of hood.
Use an 8" round steel pipe (and/or follow the building codes in your area) to connect the
3
exhaust on the hood to the ductwork above. If the pipe used is smaller than 8", it will
reduce the airflow and put back pressure on the motor causing excessive wear and tear.
We cannot provide warranty service on a range hood that has not been installed
following our recommendations.
4 Use aluminum foil tape to make all joints secure and air tight. Refer to Figure 6.
SAFETY WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. This range hood must be properly
grounded. Make sure this is done by a qualified technician in accordance with all
applicable national and local electrical codes. Before connecting the wires, switch power
OFF at service panel and lock service panel to prevent power from being switched ON
accidentally.
5
Plug in the 3-prong plug in a properly grounded outlet. The outlet should be placed
within reach of the power cord.
Figure 3
Store excess wires in the wiring box.
Place oil tunnel into recess support near rear of hood. Refer to Figure 7.
7
Install the baffle filters (refer to Baffle Filter Installation on Page 10).
8
Turn power ON from the control panel. Check all lights and verify the operation of the
9
fan (see section "Range Hood Operations"). If the hood does not operate, first determine
if a circuit breaker has opened or a home fuse is blown. Disconnect the power source
and inspect the wiring connections. If the issue is not resolved, follow the
troubleshooting steps on page 16.
