Switch action
Before plugging in the tool,
WARNING:
always check to see that the switch trigger actu-
ates properly and returns to the "OFF" position
when released. Do not pull the switch trigger hard
without pressing in the lock-o昀昀 button. This can
cause switch breakage. Operating a tool with a
switch that does not actuate properly can lead to loss
of control and serious personal injury.
NEVER use tool without a fully
WARNING:
operative switch trigger. Any tool with an inoper-
ative switch is HIGHLY DANGEROUS and must be
repaired before further usage or serious personal
injury may occur.
NEVER defeat the lock-o昀昀 button
WARNING:
by taping down or some other means. A switch with
a negated lock-o昀昀 button may result in unintentional
operation and serious personal injury.
WARNING:
NEVER use the tool if it runs when
you simply pull the switch trigger without press-
ing the lock-o昀昀 button. A switch in need of repair
may result in unintentional operation and serious
personal injury. Return tool to a Makita service center
for proper repairs BEFORE further usage.
To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentally
pulled, a lock-o昀昀 button is provided. To start the tool,
press in the lock-o昀昀 button and pull the switch trigger.
Release the switch trigger to stop.
A hole is provided in the switch trigger for insertion of a
padlock to lock the tool o昀昀.

WARNING:
Do not use a lock with a shank
or cable any smaller than 6.35 mm in diameter. A
smaller shank or cable may not properly lock the tool
in the o昀昀 position and unintentional operation may
occur resulting in serious personal injury.
Casting a cutting line
CAUTION:
The lamp is not a rainproof. Do not
wash the lamp in water or use it in a rain or a wet
area. Such a conduct can cause an electric shock
and fume.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the lens of the lamp
as it is very hot while it is lighted or shortly after it
is turned o昀昀. This may cause burns.

which may cause damage or shortened service
time to it.
CAUTION:
Do not look in the light or see the
source of light directly.
The LED lamp casts a light over the circular saw blade,
and a shadow of the saw blade falls onto a workpiece
serving as a calibration-free cutting line indicator. Press
the lamp switch to shed a light. A line appears in which
the saw blade will meet the surface of the workpiece,
becoming deepened as the saw blade gets lowered.

The indicator helps cut through an existing cut-o昀昀 line
penciled on a workpiece.

NOTE: Be sure to turn o昀昀 the lamp switch after use.
Otherwise the lamp stays hot.

When not in use, store the hex wrench as shown in the
昀椀gure to keep it from being lost.

Installing or removing circular saw
blade
WARNING:

installing the circular saw blade. Accidental startup
of the tool may result in serious personal injury.

Common preparations for installing
or removing the circular saw blade

Unlock the carriage by pulling the stopper pin,
then move the carriage to the raised position.

Loosen the hex socket bolt holding the center
cover using the hex wrench. Then, raise the blade
guard and center cover.
