CUTOUT FOR HOOD SUPPORT
INSTALL FRAMING FOR HOOD SUPPORT
The hood is designed to be installed in a dropped ceiling, following the instructions below:
•
The false ceiling must be robust and have a load capacity suitable for a product with a maximum weight of 38 kg (for 40"
models) or 58 Kg (for 60" models).
•
Do not install the hood directly in the dropped ceiling panels, use a suitable frame or support.
•
The support material can be metal or wood and must be installed flush with the cut in the dropped ceiling, the minimum thickness
of the material must be sufficient to comply with the thickness indicated in "C".

CHANGE PANEL FOR A CUSTOMIZED ONE (OPTIONAL)
Recommended: Use fireproof gypsum board panels (type X fire rated gypsum board complying with ASTM E84), suitable for the
operating conditions in terms of temperature (at least 80°C) and humidity (at least 93%) reached during application.
For installation, follow the instructions below:

Maximum panel weight for ECEX40SS is 4.1 kg / 9.03 lb
Maximum panel weight for ECEX60SS is 8.2 kg / 18.07 lb
NOTE: The panel must fit within the perimeter plate margin, so the
size of the panel must match the dimensions of the hood's plate.

Open the plate and remove the 2 screws from each of the 2
hinges that hold it to the hood.

Remove the plate from the hood and remove the 6 screws that
attach each panel to the plate.
(ECEX40SS: 6 screws, ECEX60SS: 12 screws)

Construct a wood or metal structure (consider dimensions A, B and C of
the installation cutout).
NOTE: The structure must be securely fastened to the roof so that it is
capable of supporting three times the weight of the product. Be sure to
use nails or screws suitable for the construction of the structure.

NOTE: Later when assembling the hood, the retaining clips should rest
over the previously installed cross supports.

Install the panel in place of the plate and tighten with the
screws removed earlier.
IMPORTANT: The thickness of the panel must be at least 9mm.
NOTE: If required, a hole can be drilled in the center of the plate
and screwed in.

Replace the plate on the hood, fastening the 4 hinge screws
and close the plate.
