Cold Weather Operation
In cold temperatures (-12°C/10°F or
below), the liquid crystal display (LCD)
on your Transmitter may be dim or slow
to respond. Wait until the display
becomes visible before selecting any
training commands.
Cold temperatures may lead to a
premature low battery signal, so keep
the transmitter close to your body during
cold weather. One method to keep the
transmitter close to your body is by
using the lanyard.
U U s s e e t t h h e e L L a a n n y y a a r r d d : : Attach the included
lanyard to the Transmitter. Slip the lanyard
over your head and shoulder (above left)
or position in front of you (above right) to
carry your Transmitter close to your body
when not in use. Your body's warmth will
improve cold-weather operation.
Operating Range
Your Transmitter communicates with the
Receiver collar via a radio signal. The
system's operating range, as stated on
packaging, is based upon line-of-sight.
For maximum range, keep your fingers
away from the antenna during use, and
always keep the antenna away from all
magnets. Exposure to a magnet may
permanently diminish range. As shown
at right, hold the transmitter upright, at or
above shoulder level, and away from
your body.

Setting User-selectable Identity
Code (ID code)
ID codes represent a "channel" on which
the Transmitter communicates with the
Receiver collar. The FieldPro Remote
Training system utilizes 250 different ID
codes, one of which is randomly
selected when you turn on the system
(or replace the batteries in Scout
models). At times, you may wish to have
more than one Transmitter able to
communicate with a single Receiver
collar. To do this, manually set each
Transmitter to the same ID code (per
collar in cases where two dogs are
used). ID codes 150 to 250 are user
selectable.
1.Press Dog Select button to choose
desired Receiver collar.
2.Press the PROG button on the
Transmitter until the PROG symbol
displays.
3.Press the Down arrow button. The
display shows a small '1' and 50.
4.Use the Up and Down arrow buttons
to change the ID code setting, ranging
from 150 to 250. We recommend that
ID codes differ by 10 or more (not be
consecutive numbers) for two dog
systems.
5.Set the new ID code by pressing the
PROG button. The transmitter exits
programming mode.
