o
Note: If the toaster starts to smoke, end the toasting process prematurely while
pressing the STOP button (c/8). Never lift the push-down/start lever (6) to interrupt
toasting.
o
The toaster turns off when the desired toast browning is achieved and automatically
raises the toast out of the toasting slots. You can also uplift the lever (6) a little to
remove the bread readily.
o
To toast frozen bread, place the bread into the bread slots (1), select the desired
browning setting and press the push down/start lever (6) down and lock into position,
then press the DEFROST button (b/9). The toasting time will be altered automatically
to give the same degree of browning you get with unfrozen bread.
o
To reheat, place plain toasts into the bread slots, press the push down/start lever (6)
down to lock into position, then press the REHEAT button (a/10) to warm up the
slices.
• HINTS AND TIPS
o
If a single slice of bread is inserted in the toaster, the usual browning setting needs
to be reduced to avoid the toast burning.
o
Different types of bread require a different setting: old or thin bread browns faster
than ordinary bread (just like sweet bread products, e.g. fruit loaf, cake), and should
be toasted on a lighter setting.
o
If toasting large quantities, the browning will gradually get darker (See NOTE in
subsection "About this toaster").
• CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
o
Before cleaning, unplug the toaster and let it cool down completely.
o
Wipe the outside with soft damp cloth; Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents
that may scratch or damage the chrome coating of the appliance.
o
Remove the crumb tray (4) by grasping its handle (5) and wipe it clean. If the toaster
is used frequently, the accumulated breadcrumbs should be removed at least once a
week. Replace the crumb tray before using the toaster again.
o
Don't let anything enter the slots, as it might damage the elements.
o
When not in use or for storage, twist the power cord under the bottom of toaster.
