TAKE the following precautions when equipment is being stored for a long period:
TAKE the following precautions when equipment is being stored for a long period:
1. Protect the equipment from cold and freezing.
Follow the instructions specifi ed in the "Cold Protection" section.
2. Using a siphon, drain all the remaining fuel from the engine tank.
3. Use the antifreeze in recirculation; vacuum the antifreeze from the container and return it to the same
container. To FULLY empty the carburetor, start the engine and let it run until it stops on its own.
4. Using a siphon, empty the oil tank.
5. Change the engine oil. Follow the instructions specifi ed earlier in this section.
6. Drain the oil from the pump. Follow the instructions specifi ed earlier in this section.
7. Disconnect and recharge the battery. Follow the instructions specifi ed earlier in this section.
8. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, protected from rain and well ventilated.
When the time comes to restart the appliance, take the following precautions:
1. Make sure all hoses are in good condition, not cracked or crushed.
2. Check the condition of the oil fi lter. Replace the fi lter if it is damaged or dirty.
3. Check the presence and condition of the water inlet seal.
4. Change the engine oil. Follow the instructions specifi ed earlier in this section.
5. Drain the oil from the pump. Follow the instructions specifi ed earlier in this section.
6. Collect the antifreeze from the appliance. Follow the instructions specifi ed in the "Cold Protection" section.
7. Recharge and reconnect the battery. Follow the instructions specifi ed earlier in this section.
8. Check the general condition of the device. Perform a complete visual inspection.
9. When everything seems to be perfect, fi ll the fuel tanks and start the machine.
WARNING :
• Fill fuel only outdoors and in a well-ventilated area with the unit turned off .
• If fuel is spilled, clean thoroughly and allow the vapors to dissipate before starting the engine.
• Do not refi ll while smoking, near an open flame, sparks or other heat source.
• Always wear long clothing, gloves and safety glasses when inspecting, cleaning, repairing and
use of this device.
• The battery contains sulfuric acid. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wear rubber gloves
and goggles or visor when handling, fi lling or recharging. If electrolyte is splashed into the eyes or
on skin, cleanse with plenty of plain water and call a doctor immediately.
• The battery produces hydrogen and oxygen gas during charging procedure. Keep all sources of ignition away.
When checking electrolyte level, use flashlight or permanent light to illuminate.
DO NOT light or turn off the light source near the battery. DO NOT smoke or cause sparks.
CAUTION :
• ALWAYS disconnect the battery before recharging it.
• ALWAYS Recharge the battery in a well-ventilated area.
• NEVER place metal tools, such as wrenches or screwdrivers on top of the battery.
• NEVER disconnect a battery that is in use. Close all the switches fi rst.
