General overview
The Pfannenberg mounting and installation air/ water heat exchangers-of the series PWS and PWI are stationary
Devices for the cooling of the switch cabinet interior air and for diverting heat out of switch cabinets. They are
available in the following versions:
• The PWI air/water heat exchangers are partially recessed in the side or installed in the door.
• The PWS air/water heat exchangers are mounted on the side or on the door.
The air/water heat exchangers have varying cooling capacities. For exact watt specifications, see
The air/water heat exchangers have cut-out compatibility with air/air heat exchangers and 6000 attachment and
installation cooling units from the DTS and DTI series.
All Pfannenberg air/water heat exchangers are ROHS-compliant and free from:
•
silicone connections
•
PCT, asbestos, formaldehyde, cadmium
•
moisture-impairing substances
1.2
Permissible usage conditions
•
The permissible ambient air temperature of the PWI/PWS air/ water heat exchangers is +15°C (+59°F) to +55°C
(+131°F).
•
The permissible storage temperature of the PWI/PWS air/ water heat exchangers may not exceed +70 °C
(+158°F).
1.3
Duty of the operator
The operator must ensure that the air/water heat exchangers are used exclusively as intended and that dangers of
all types to the life and limb of users or third parties are avoided. In addition, accident prevention regulations and
recognized safety rules must be observed.
The operator must ensure that all users have read and understood this operating manual.
Non-observance of this operating manual will void the warranty. The same applies if improper work has been
carried out on the unit by the customer and/or third parties without the approval of the manufacturer.

Description of use
WARNING
Danger due to impermissible use of units
Inappropriate use of the units can cause severe accidents.
➢ Only use air/water heat exchangers in stationary operation.
The Pfannenberg mounting and installation air/water heat exchangers of the series PWS and PWI are designed for
the cooling of the switch cabinet interior air and for diverting heat out of switch cabinets. Sensitive components in
the switch cabinet are protected. Condensate arising during the cooling is removed through a hose.
The PWI/PWS air/water heat exchangers are only approved for stationary operation.
As air/water heat exchangers of the protection class IP 55, the air/water heat exchangers are for the most part
protected from dust. Limitation: Dust can penetrate after continuous exposure.
The air/water heat exchangers are resistant to spray water, but not a constant water jet.
