Mattress replacement system
The Pentafl ex mattress replacement design comprises of a reversible 4-way turn, high resilience
®
polyurethane core with 5 anatomical pressure redistributing zones per side, protected by a 2-way
stretch, vapour permeable, water resistant cover.
Contoured Surface
A Pentafl ex foam squab is available for use with in-built bed extensions, for more details refer to
the user leafl et 609903.
Clinical applications
Indications for Use
Pentafl ex 120 is indicated for users
up to 120 kg (264 lb / 19 stones).
Pentafl ex 250 is indicated for users up to
250 kg (550 lbs / 39 stones). Suitable for a
wide range of patients including those with
superfi cial ulcers (in association with an
individualised plan of care).
Note: These are guidelines only and should
not replace clinical experience or judgment.
If there is no improvement in the patient's
condition, specialist advice should be sought.
WARNING
The cover of this product is vapour permeable but
not air permeable and may present a suff ocation
risk. It is the responsibility of the care giver to
ensure that the user can use this product safely.
If a serious incident occurs in relation to
this medical device, aff ecting the user, or
the patient then the user or patient should
report the serious incident to the medical
device manufacturer or the distributor. In
the European Union, the user should also
report the serious incident to the Competent
Authority in the member state where they are
located.

Instructions for Use
Mattress replacement system:
1. Remove all packaging.
2. Lay the Pentafl ex mattress replacement
onto the bed frame, ensuring that there
are no sharp edges which might rip the
cover.
CAUTION
Do not use the mattress without a cover. It provides
a protective barrier against biological contamination
of the foam.
3. Ensure the correct month is showing on
the Turntable indicator at the foot of the
TM
cover. If the incorrect month is showing,
rotate the mattress to show correct
month at the foot end. Months are
indicated as follows:
1/12 = January
2/12 = February, etc.
4. Use the Turntable indicator as a guide for
the monthly rotation and turning of the
mattress. This helps to even out wear of
the mattress and to extend the life of the
product.
