General description
Typical application of our sensors
Our sensors contain a transistor oscillator which is actuated when a defined capacitance is exceeded
by the approach of the medium. The smaller the dielectric permittivity (Ɛr) the closer the medium has
to be approached. Our IAS sensors (inductive proximity switches / sensors) detect metallic media, our
KAS sensors (capacitive proximity switches / sensors) detect all media (including liquids). The effect can
also be achieved by detecting through non-metal materials, if the dielectric permittivity of the material to
be detected is higher (approx. factor 5 for KAS sensors). Depending on the version, the current change
of the oscillator is amplified into an analogue output signal or output as a binary signal via a switching
amplifier.
Mounting
Threaded sensors are supplied with 2 nuts. The following table should be consulted when considering
the maximum torque. For mounting in threaded blocks the maximum screw-in length has to be taken
into consideration (according to DIN 13). For sensors without thread the range of accessories provides
suitable mounting blocks.
Flush mountable

The dimension "e" corresponds to the
thread-free area or ≥ 25 mm.
