7.3.2 Timer Display

The process time is set with the Timer plus / minus key (16).
Max. time is 9:59 h:m.
Once the process temperature is reached, the colon flashes, and the timer starts
to countdown the time in minutes. The timer can not be set during the countdown.
The remaining time is calculated and displayed by the internal processor based defined
time / temperature control for the Heraeus Kulzer water bath. The remaining time may
vary depending on the filling level of water and quantity of flask baskets in the polymeri-
zation pot.
If an error is detected, it is also displayed in the timer display.
Error messages are indicated by "E" (e.g. E 01). A table containing possible error messages
can be found in chapter 10 (Information on malfunctions).

7.3.3 Starting a process

After pressing the Heat (11) key, the unit is heated up to the stand-by
temperature and this temperature is kept.
The status is indicated by the yellow status LED on the key.
When the stand-by temperature is reached, the objects
to be polymerized can be placed in.
When using hot polymerization the lid must be closed
during heat up.
Use only a flask basket which resists temperatures
up to 120°C (248°F).
Carefully place in and remove the objects to be polymerized. Risk of scalding!
When pressing the Start / Stop key (14), pressurization is carried out automatically for processes 55°C (131°F) and
90°C (194°F). The status LED on the Pressure key (13) indicates the compressed air status. A status LED which is lit indicates
an open pressure valve. The maximum value of pressurization for the pot is 2 bars. The Pressure display (4) provides an
additional control option.
For hot polymerization processes 100°C (212°F) and Kulzer water bath the compressed air can be switched manually,
if needed.
When the timer stops, the compressed air is automatically released and an acoustic signal can be heard. Risk of scalding!

Draining the contaminated water

Close the pressure pot, attach hose to the drainage connection (9) at the rear of the unit to drain the water, open water drainage
valve (8) and press the pressure key (13). After the water has been removed from the pressure pot, press the pressure key (13)
again. Close the water drainage valve and switch off the power switch.
To empty the water reservoir, use only a silicone hose with a temperature resistance of up to 120°C (248°F).
A suitable hose can be ordered from Heraeus Kulzer (Order No. 66009729 – silicone hose, red).
The silicone hose is not included in the scope of delivery!
When emptying the water reservoir, the silicone hose may heat up considerably. Risk of scalding!

Putting out of operation

Discharge contaminated water (see chapter 7.4 Draining the contaminated water)
Switch off the unit with the power switch (5)
Unplug the unit (6)
Any material residues should be removed with a sponge cloth
