PROPANE TANK
Use a 20 lb (9 kg) propane tank which includes a collar to protect the tank
valve. The safety release valve on the propane tank could activate gas
leaking and cause fire. If instructions 1 and 2 below are not followed, a fire
causing death or serious injury can occur.
1. Never store a spare tank under or near this appliance.
2. Never fill the tank over 80% of its capacity.
Regulator and tank connection:
1. Place the tank on a secure, level and stable surface.
2. Turn off the control knob.
3. Turn the tank off by turning the hand wheel clockwise to a full stop.
4. Remove the protective cap from the tank valve.
Caution: Always use the cap and strap supplied with valve. DO NOT
use a POL transport plug. It will defeat the safety feature of the valve.
5. Hold the regulator and insert the nipple into the valve outlet. Hand
tighten the coupling nut while holding the regulator in a straight line
with tank valve so as not to cross thread the connection.
6. Turn the coupling nut clockwise to tighten a full solid stop. The regulator
will seal on the back-check. Do not use tools to tighten connector.
Tip: An additional one-half to three-quarters turn is required to complete.
Note: If you cannot complete the connection, repeat steps 5 and 6. If you
are still unable to complete the connection, do not use this regulator.
