Wind the spool with new line
WARNING:
tool before servicing, cleaning, changing attachments or removing material from the unit.
1. Remove the battery pack
2. Press the release tabs on the spool
base and remove the spool retainer
by pulling it straight out (Fig. 15).
3. Remove the spool. Use a clean cloth
to clean the inner surface of the
spool retainer and spool base.
NOTICE: Always clean the spool retainer
and spool base before reassembling the
trimmer head.
4. Check the spool retainer, spool and
spool base worn wear parts.
5. Take approximately 15 ft (4.5m) of
0.095 in. (2.4 mm) diameter cutting
line. Fold the line in half and then
adjust it so that one end is
4.5 in. (11cm) longer than
the other (Fig. 16).
6. Hook the folded end of the cutting
line onto either of the slots in the
spool (Fig. 17).
7. Wind the line, in two even and tight
layers, onto the spool. Wind the line
in the direction indicated on the
spool (Fig. 17).
NOTICE: Failure to wind the line in the
direction indicated will cause the trimmer
head to operate incorrectly.
