OPERATIONS
BATTERY PREPARATION
The battery is not fully charged out of the carton. Charge the battery before
first use.
Check the battery power level before each use.
OPERATING THE HOT STAPLER
WARNING! Wear eye protection when snapping the staples. Snapped or
snipped staples can spring outward in a random direction. Also hold a
gloved hand over the staple while snapping or snipping to prevent it
from springing away.
WARNING! Perform hot stapling tasks in an area with ventilation or
while wearing a respirator or mask. Burning plastic can release harmful
fumes. Using a sander or grinder on the workpiece can create dust
particles. Both fumes and dust can cause breathing discomfort. Move
into an area with fresh air until the discomfort passes. If the discomfort
continues, seek medical attention.
Multiple staples are used to 'stitch' the two sides of a broken plastic component
together.
1.
Tape the broken pieces on the other side of the plastic workpiece to
prevent them from moving during the staple application process. Apply
the stapels to the inner surface when possible.
2.
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. The power indicator LED
will glow. The hot stapler is active.
3.
Insert each leg of the wire staple into a heating element tip. Make sure to
keep your fingers away from the trigger to avoid a burn.
a.
Staples come in a variety of shapes for specific welding tasks. Assess
the staple type needed based on the task.
4.
Press the cold staple against the plastic so it straddles the break being
repaired.
5.
Squeeze the trigger between 4 to 10 seconds to heat the staple while
gently pressing down. The LED work light will illuminate the material
while the trigger is held.
