OPERATION
BEFORE WELDING
1.
Ensure that the internal and external protective films are removed
from the lenses.
2.
Check that the battery has sufficient power to operate the helmet.
When the battery power is low, the filter cartridge may not work
correctly. Replace the filter cartridge.
3.
Check that the arc sensors are clean and not blocked by dust or debris.
4.
Check for head band tightness before each use.
WELDING HELMET SETTINGS
Grab a tab on either side of the welding helmet' s view plate and swing it
upward to access the inner dials to set the DIN shade (H), delay time (J) and
sensitivity (I).
SHADE NUMBER SELECTION
Adjust the welding helmet' s Shade Number to match the type of welding.
Consult the Welding Shade Guide in Appendix A to determine the minimum
shade for the amperage and welding method being employed.
Turn the dial clockwise to increase the DIN number, counterclockwise to
decrease the DIN number.
DELAY TIME
Delay time refers to the time the cartridge filter is set to change from the
dark to light state after the welding stops. The delay can be adjusted up to a
0.9 second delay.
The delay is set between 0.1, suitable for spot or short welds to 0.9 seconds,
suitable for heavy current welding or when visible light is produced.
SENSITIVITY
The sensitivity control is set according to the welding process and ambient
light. The dial does not have distinct numbers, as you can set it to any point
based on your comfort. Below are guidelines for the best settings based on
the situation.
1.
Low Setting - suitable for high amperage welding and welding in areas
with high levels of natural sunlight.
2.
Medium Setting - suitable for most indoors and outdoors welding.
3.
High Setting - suitable for low amperage welding and welding in areas
with low light conditions, especially for low amperage argon-arc welding.
