A short power-supply cord is

supplied to reduce the risks
resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a
longer cord.
Extension cords may be used when

care is exercised in using them.
When an extension cord is used:

i) The marked electrical rating of
the extension cord shall be at
least as great as the electrical
rating of the appliance.
ii) The extension cord must be
a grounding type 3-wire cord
and it must be plugged into a
properly grounded outlet.
iii) The longer cord shall be
arranged so that it does not
drape over the counter top or
tabletop where it is capable of
being pulled on by children or
tipped over unintentionally.
