Setting Up and Connecting the Device
PLEASE NOTE!

The device may only be operated in a horizontal position.
■
Only connect the device to a properly installed plug socket. The plug socket must be
readily accessible so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The
mains voltage must match the technical data of the device.
■
Do not place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising
steam could cause damage to them!
■
The surfaces of furniture may possibly contain elements which can attack and soften
the adjustable feet of the device. If necessary, place a suitable pad below the adjust-
able feet.
1. Set up the device with a clear space on all sides (at least 20 cm) and clear space
above it (at least 50 cm) on a dry, fl at, solid and heat-resistant surface.
2. Fully unwind the connecting cable.
3. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket that is easily accessible. A
beep sounds, all control lamps (A, B), the operating lamp (C) and the display (G) light
up once. The control lamps then go out again, the operating lamp fl ashes and the
display shows C. The device is in stand-by.

There may still be some production residues on the device. You should therefore
clean the device thoroughly before you fi rst use it (see the "Cleaning and Storage"
chapter).

Do not heat any empty cookware on the device. The cookware could be damaged.
■
Do not use any cookware whose base contains scratches, score marks or uneven
areas. Do not slide cookware over the glass hob. It could be scratched.
■
Wipe down the glass hob and the bottom of the cookware before use to remove any
dirt. This could scratch the glass hob.

Induction stoves and induction hobs heat up at a faster rate than other types
of stove.
•
Noises may be produced when cookware is used on induction stoves or in-
duction hobs. These are caused by the electromagnetic properties of induc-
tion stoves or induction hobs and induction cookware and do not constitute
a defect.
•
The device automatically detects the diameter of the bottom of the cookware
that is being used and activates the appropriate zone.
