6. Adjustment procedures: CROSSOVER ORIENTATION
HOW TO CHANGE THE CROSSOVER SPACER'S
ORIENTATION:
1) Note of your preload adjustment (in mm) to be able to
re-adjust properly to the same position after the operation.
Reduce the preload by turning the preload ring clockwise
(see p.10).
2) Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle and install it
in a vise with the shaft facing upward (upside down).
3) Push down on the spring and spring clip (see picture #1).
This will create a gap between the spring clip and lower
eyelet. Slide out the spring clip as shown in picture #2.
An helper might be useful at this step to avoid injury.
4) Once the spring clip is out, you will be able to remove the
main spring in order to change the crossover's orientation
(see picture #3).
5) Re-install the springs back in the same order they were on
the shock absorber.
6) Push down on the springs and slide the spring clip back in
place. An helper might be useful at this step to avoid
injury.
7) Resume the preload adjustment back to the setting you
took note (see p.10).
8) Re-install the shock absorber back on the vehicle.
TECH TIP: Put a piece of rubber or wood (or soft cloth) between the vise and your
shock to avoid damaging it. Secure the shock just enough to avoid it from slipping
sideways when applying pressure on the spring but not too much to avoid damaging it.
