SENSOR PHC LIFTER REPAIR
For the linear-bearing cartridge and ball screw, the bearing manufacturer recommends grease with the following
characteristics:
1. Lithium soap-based grease
2. NLGI Grade 2
3. No metal particles. Some greases use copper or aluminum particles, which may be abrasive.
Compatible lubricants include Mobil 1 Synthetic grease and Mobilith SHC 220.
To lubricate the ball screw during regular maintenance
1. Position the lifter approximately at the top of the stroke.
2. Press the emergency stop (E-stop) on the lifter.
3. Remove the lower lifter cover.
4. Clean the visible portion of the ball screw and bearing rails with a clean, dry cloth.
5. Start the lifter.
6. Position the lifter at the bottom of the stroke.
7. Press the E-stop on the lifter.
8. Again, clean the visible portion of the ball screw and bearing rails with a clean, dry, cloth.
9. Repeat the process several times, moving the lifter back and forth to distribute and remove grease and debris.
10. Grease the bearing port with a needle-style grease gun.
11. Apply a thin coat of grease to the ball screw threads.
12. Move the lifter back and forth to distribute grease while checking for binding or erratic movement.
13. Replace the cover.
