a ) Sm ok e Liquid
•
Unplug t he device [ 8 ] before filling t he t ank [ 3 ] .
•
Only use non- inflam m able wat er- based sm oke fluid wit hout oil or grease, such as VD LSL1 ( 1
lit re) , VDLSL5 ( 5 lit res) , or VD LSL5 H ( 5 lit res high densit y sm oke liquid) .
•
Non- recom m ended sm oke liquid m ay dam age t he m achine and void t he warrant y.
1.
Unplug t he device from t he m ains [ 8 ] .
2.
Unscrew t he cap from t he t ank [ 3 ] .
3.
Carefully pour sm oke liquid int o t he t ank ( do not overfill it ! ! ) .
4.
Close t he screw cap firm ly.
5.
Gent ly slide t he feeder t ube [ 9 ] int o t he reservoir unt il t he t ip t ouches t he bot t om .

b) Fuse
•
Only fit or replace a fuse when t he device is unplugged from t he m ains.
•
Replace a blown fuse wit h a fuse of t he sam e t ype and rat ing ( see " 8 . Te chnica l
Spe cifica t ions" ) :
1.
Unplug t he device from t he m ains [ 8 ] .
2.
Unscrew t he fuse holder [ 6 ] at t he back wit h an appropriat e screwdriver.
3.
Rem ove t he old fuse and inst all a new one.
4.
Replace t he fuse holder [ 6 ] and fast en it wit h t he screwdriver.
c)
M ount ing t he de vice
N ot e : when m ount ing t he device under an angle, do not fill t he t ank [ 3 [ com plet ely t o avoid spilling
liquid from t he t ank int o t he m achine.

Have t he device inst alled by a qualified person, respect ing EN 60598- 2- 17 and all ot her applicable
norm s.
•
The const ruct ion t o which t he device is at t ached should be able t o support 10 t im es t he weight of
t he device for one hour wit hout deform at ion.
•
The inst allat ion m ust always be secured wit h a secondary at t achm ent e.g. a safet y cable ( e.g.
VD LSC7 or VDLSC8 ) .
•
Never st and direct ly below t he device when it is being m ount ed, rem oved or serviced. Have a
qualified t echnician check t he device once a year and once before you bring it int o service.
•
I nst all t he device in a locat ion wit h few passers- by t hat is inaccessible t o unaut horised persons.
•
Overhead m ount ing requires ext ensive experience: calculat ing workload lim it s, det erm ining t he
inst allat ion m at erial t o be used... Have t he m at erial and t he device it self checked regularly. Do not
at t em pt t o inst all t he device yourself if you lack t hese qualificat ions as im proper inst allat ion m ay
result in inj uries.

Make sure t here is no flam m able m at erial wit hin a 50cm radius of t he device.
•
Have a qualified elect rician carry out t he elect ric connect ion.
•
Connect t he device t o t he m ains wit h t he power plug [ 6 ] . Don't connect it t o a dim m ing pack.
•
The inst allat ion has t o be approved by an expert before t he device is t aken int o service.
