Information on video decoding in a browser

The video stream is decoded and displayed in the browser without an additional video plug-in.
You do not need to install an ActiveX plug-in.
The following technology is required by the browser to display the video:
MSE – Media Source Extension
The following browsers currently support this technology:
- Google Chrome Windows / MAC OS X / Android
- Mozilla Firefox 42 Windows / Firefox 38 MAC OS X
- Mircosoft Internet Explorer 11 from Windows 8.1
- Mircosoft Edge
- Opera from 2015
- Safari 8 MAC OS X
Videos displays have a short time delay of under one second and are technology-dependent.
Other end devices could display videos through e.g. an RTSP stream, and thus be less delayed.
