3 Ripping Music
Press the front panel

button and insert a CD in the drawer. Press the

The HDX-SSD will begin ripping automatically. To view progress select

menu. The CD will be ejected automatically when ripping is complete. A typical CD
can take up to eight minutes to rip.
4 Local Music Playback
Select
Browse Music
from the
menu choose an item and select

popular, recently played and newest items.
5 Network Music Playback
The HDX-SSD is a UPnP™ (Universal Plug and Play) server device. Ripped music is automatically
made available to any UPnP™ playback device connected to the network.
Switch on a playback device and search through its list of connected servers for the HDX-SSD
(e.g. NSHDX4567). Select the HDX-SSD followed by the desired material for playback.
6 Switch Off
Switching off the HDX-SSD from its rear panel power switch is not normally necessary.
The HDX-SSD can be put into shutdown mode by pressing the handset
pressing and holding the front panel
flash as the HDX-SSD shuts down and stop flashing but remain lit when it is in shutdown mode.
To switch the HDX-SSD back on from shutdown mode, the rear panel power switch must be
switched off and on again.
Do not switch off the HDX-SSD from the rear panel power switch or unplug it from the mains
until it is in shutdown mode.

internal music database,

associated data during the
ripping process, it must be
connected to a working
internet connection.
