To prevent SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH:
• Disconnect electric power to operator BEFORE installing or servicing.
• The heater gets extremely hot during operation. DO NOT touch the
heater while it is in operation. Allow 15 minutes for the heater to cool
BEFORE servicing the operator.
APPLICATION
The heater keeps the gearbox and batteries at a suitable temperature when
the outside temperature is below -4°F. The thermostat MUST be set between
45°F and 60°F to ensure proper gate operation. The heater can be powered
by 480 Vac.

INSTALLATION
NOTE: Refer to the illustrations to find the
location for the heater on your operator.
1. Disconnect all power to the operator.
2. Fasten the heater bracket to the operator with
the provided hardware.
3. Attach the heater and thermostat to the
heater bracket by sliding the top clips onto
the bracket, then push down until the bottom
clips snap onto the bracket (A).
4. Install the new transformer as shown (B).

WIRING
NOTE: Refer to the illustrations for wire routing
on your operator. Use the watertight connector
for junction box connections.
1. Route the white wire from the heater to the
transformer. Connect it to "com" on the
transformer.
2. Route the black wire from the thermostat to

3. Connect the purple and black transformer
wires to the incoming power in the junction
box (C).
4. Route the purple wire from the junction box
to the transformer. Connect it to "com" on
the transformer.
5. Route the black wire from the junction box to
the transformer. Connect it to "480V" on the
transformer.
6. Set the thermostat dial between 45°F and
60°F.
7. Reconnect power to the operator.
