Use
Alarm indicators provide optical repeat signals for
automatic fire detectors.
FDAI91 (Fig. 1) for frame mounting
–
FDAI92 (Fig. 4) for surface mounting
–
FDAI93 (Fig. 12) for installation in door frames,
–
switchboards, false ceilings or special housings
Installing FDAI91 on door frames
For master gauge for holes in door frame, see Fig. 2.
Drill up to 4 holes, ø max. 7.5 mm in the door frame

for cable entries as required.
Remove white cover cap (snap out).

Attach alarm indicator base plate (Fig. 3) to door
frame with two screws, ø max. 3 mm.

Connect alarm indicator in accordance with
connection diagram (Fig. 6).
Refit white cover cap.

Snap the white cover cap into place.

Surface-mounted installation of FDAI92

Remove the white cover cap (press the black cam).
Mount the base plate (Fig. 5) on a wall or recess-

mounted socket using 2...4 screws with
max. diameter 3 mm.
Connect alarm indicator in accordance with

connection diagram (Fig. 6).
Refit the white cover cap.

Snap the white cover cap into place.

Adapter frame AI330 for FDAI92
For surface-mounted cable entry the additional frame
AI330 (accessory) must also be mounted.

Attach alarm indicator FDAI92 to adapter frame

max. 16 mm long.

Insert wires in spring clips [3].

Connecting to automatic fire detector (Fig. 10,
Fig. 11, Fig. 21)
Connect alarm indicator FDAI91, FDAI92 or FDAI93 in
accordance with the connection diagram shown.
Select the appropriate connection diagram depending
on the installed detector family.
Observe the information in the detector documentation.

Surface-mounted housing DCA1191 (Fig. 19) and
indicator housing DJZ1193 (Fig. 20) for FDAI93
When using alarm indicator FDCAI93 in wet areas,
surface-mounted housing DCA1191 (accessory) or
indicator housing DJZ1193 (accessory) must also be
fitted.
Max. four alarm indicators FDAI93 can be fitted in the
surface-mounted housing DCA1191. The necessary
installation holes of ø 22.5 mm must be made by the
customer.
The indicator housing DJZ1193 has the installation
hole for installing an alarm indicator. A washer is
supplied.

Make a hole, ø 22,5 mm, at the installation site.
Slide insulating cap [6] on to connection wires.
(Fig. 12)
Connect alarm indicator FDAI93 in accordance with
connection diagram (Fig. 14).
Slide insulating cap [6] on to alarm indicator until
screw terminals [7] are covered.
Push alarm indicator FDAI93 into hole.
Use two screws of ø 3.5 mm to fit the housing on a
plane surface (Fig. 17, Fig. 20).
Fit alarm indicator FDAI93 in a drilled hole of
ø 22.5 mm. Always use a washer [8] between the
collars of FDAI93 and housing cover (Fig. 18,
Fig. 20).
Screw housing cover down to housing (Fig. 19,
Fig. 20).
Strip approx. 7...8 mm of insulation from connection
wires.
Insert wires into screw terminals [7].
Tighten screw terminals [7].
