The ergonomic seat that relieves strain on the back
Backache, sciatic pain or neck pain are the inseparable corollary of office
work. It is clear that people are simply not suited to sitting all day long,
and that conventional chairs are not suitable for sitting for long periods of
time.
The ergonomic kneeling chair is a redesigned solution for back pain and
static sitting. The very principle of this ergonomic seat is to have our
weight distributed not only over our buttocks, but also on our knees and
feet. This promotes a more upright sitting posture and better weight dis-
tribution. The lumbar vertebrae are less stressed in the wrong way as
they would be in a conventional office chair. With non-ergonomic chairs,
we tend to either lean forward or let ourselves slide to the bottom of the
seat. Both positions are not very healthy for the back:
Leaning forward, we exert increasing pressure on the middle of the
•
spine, wearing out the spinal discs...
When you let yourself slide, the tension is centered in your lower back.
•
Thanks to the ergonomic kneeling chair, we get to free up our muscles
that have been atrophied by years of a static posture. Designed with re-
spect for the body, the kneeling seat promotes movement and change of
position, thus avoiding harmful muscle tensions and allowing us to tip
over into a healthy and dynamic position.
The advantages of a kneeling seat
Your body weight is evenly distributed between the buttocks and the
•
knees.
The angle at the pelvis is more open and promotes a more natural,
•
straighter back.
Basic muscle development: this new position mobilises the abdominal
•
muscles, keeping them engaged throughout the day, improving muscle
tone.
Comfort: A common misconception about the kneeling seat is that it
•
creates discomfort in the knees. Despite its name, the kneeling seat
distributes weight between the spine, thighs and shins.
Increased concentration: Poor posture eventually leads to fatigue, dis-
•
comfort and loss of productivity. By keeping the spine in proper align-
ment, comfort and concentration are greatly improved.
