Colour Camera
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to installing and keep them for later reference.
1
Applications
This colour camera with 24 white light LEDs is
especially designed for application in video surveil-
lance systems (CCTV). Due to its robust spherical
metal housing it is weather-proof (IP 66) and pro-
tected against vandalism and can therefore also be
used outdoors. When darkness falls and in case of
movement, the integrated PIR motion sensor
switches on the LEDs (6) for approx. 25 seconds.
The camera is equipped with a 3.6 mm lens, an
automatic gain control (AGC) and digital noise re-
duction (DNR). The switching outputs allow to con-
trol video recorders, alarm facilities and additional il-
lumination. Via an input the LED illumination can
additionally be switched on.
2
Important Notes
The camera corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with
.
CAUTION! Never look directly into the lit
LEDs at close range, it may cause eye
damage.
G
Protect the camera against extreme tempera-
tures (admissible ambient temperature range
-10 °C to +50 °C).
G
For cleaning do not use aggressive detergents or
chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no lia-
bility for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the camera is
used for other purposes than originally intended,
if it is not correctly installed or not repaired in an
expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.

Installation
The connections (8 – 10) and the cable distributor
(7) are not weatherproof. In case of outdoor instal-
lation they have to be protected accordingly.
1) To determine the perfect place of mounting, a
test run should be made. Then drill at the place
of mounting four holes for fixing the base (3)
and, if required, a hole for the connection cable
(the cable can also be led through one of the
four cable inlets at the side of the base). Fasten
the base with the mounting material provided.
2) Place the camera (4) with the inner supporting
ring (1) and the outer supporting ring (2) onto the
base (3). To be able to align the camera to the
surveillance zone after setting it into operation,
for the time being only fasten the outer support-
ing ring onto the base so that the camera can
still be moved.
3) Connect the yellow BNC plug (9) to the video
input of a monitor. With a cable length of more
than 100 m a video amplifier should be inserted
between the camera and the cable to compen-
sate level loss.
4) The terminal block (10) offers the following con-
nection possibilities:
If the PIR sensor detects a movement, the
trigger output (terminal 1) is switched to ground
(terminal 5). Via a corresponding alarm input of
a video recorder e. g. a video recording can be
started.
To switch on the LEDs e. g. via an external
motion sensor, connect terminal 3 (+5 V) via a
closing contact (NO) to the sensor input of ter-
minal 2. The LEDs are only lit in case of dark-
ness.
At the output "Alarm" (terminal 4) and the ground
contact (terminal 5) an additional illumination
or an alarm facility can be switched together
with the LEDs e. g. via a relay (with protective
circuit at the coil). The output supplies +12 V at
0.5 A max.
5) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with
a permanent rating of 250 mA as a minimum
Order No. 18.3370
plus the required switching current for the alarm
output (10) to the red inline jack (8). A low volt-
age plug 5.5 / 2.1 mm (outside / inside diameter) is
required. Always observe the correct polarity
(centre contact = +).
6) Switch on the connected monitor and align the
camera by means of the monitor image: Turn the
camera in the inner supporting ring and the inner
ring in the outer ring as desired.
7) After the alignment fasten the outer supporting
ring on the base and secure it with the hexagon
socket screw (5).
