Line Measurement
This menu includes Cross Line, Calibration and Measurement.
(Fig. 28)
a) Cross Line
Four groups of cross lines are provided in red, blue, green
and white colors. You can choose according to your require-
ments.
1. Enter the Cross Line menu. (Fig. 29)
"ID" refers to the number of each group of cross lines.
"Display" informs whether the lines are displayed.
"X Position" and "Y Position" adjust the position of the center
point of the lines.
You can select and press the "Turn off All Cross lines" to hide all
cross lines.
b) Calibration
Default calibration values are available for this system. How-
ever, due to the different objective standards of the micro-
scope, the calibration value may have some discrepancies,
so it is advisable to perform a new calibration.
Calibration procedure requires a calibration micrometer.
The calibration procedure is described below.
1. Put the micrometer on the stage and adjust the microscope
so that the micrometer scale is clearly displayed on the
screen.
2. In order to facilitate calibration, it is suggested to rotate the
camera so that the micrometer is placed horizontally in the
screen without being hidden by the menu.
3. After entering the Calibration menu, the dialogue box in Fig.
30 appears.
4. Adjust the positions of the calibration start and end points to
make the calibration line coincide with the micrometer scale
and try to select the maximum length that can be displayed,
in order to make the most accurate measurement. (Fig. 31)
5. The minimum range of the selected micrometer is 0.01 mm
(10 micron). Fig. 31 shows the image under a 10x objective
lens. At this time, the "magnification" is set to "10X", the "unit"
is marked as "μm", and the "length" is set to "40".
6. Repeat the same procedure for all objective available on the
microscope.
After adjusting the parameters, exit the calibration interface:
the calibration is completed.
