Description:
Conversion set "Unibox T",
for the conversion of a "Unibox E RTL" to a "Unibox T".
Consisting of:
1) Wall unit
2) 2 fixing brackets
3) Protection cover
4) Installation instruction "Unibox E RTL"
5) Presettable thermostatic radiator valve
6) Thermostat "Uni LH"
7) 4 screws
8) 4 sleeves (use as spacers)
9) Cover plate, white

Installation and assembly:
For a conversion of the "Unibox E RTL", drain heating system.
After having removed the cover plate, the compression fittings and
fixing screws are loosened.
Remove the valve of the "Unibox E RTL" and fix into the new wall
unit (1).
By using the existing cover plate as well as the inclosed fixing
brackets (2) and the protection cover (3), a complete installation
set "Unibox E RTL" is obtained which can be re-used following the
installation instructions "Unibox E RTL".
The presettable thermostatic radiator valve (5) is mounted in the
existing wall unit.
First, place valve (5) onto the pipe connections and tighten com-
pression fittings manually.
Screw valve (5) into the wall unit by using the enclosed long
screws (7) and sleeves (8) (as spacers). It is recommended to fix
the sleeves (8) on the valve body (5) with the help of a lubricant or
bonding agent first.
Firmly tighten the compression fittings according to the corespon-
ding installation instructions.
Fill heating system and bleed, e. g. at the valve. Carry out leakage
test.
Finally, screw thermostat "Uni LH" (6) onto the valve insert. Mount
with cover plate (front cover) (9) and adjust.
Important note for heating up:
If the screed has not yet been heated up, heating up of the concre-
te and the calcium sulphate screed has to be carried out according
to EN 1264-4.
Heating up at the earliest:
– 21 days after laying the concrete screed
– 27 days after laying the calcium sulphate screed
Heat up slowly
3 days with a flow temperature of about 25°C and then
4 days with a flow temperature of about 55°C
Flow temperature only controlled via boiler control.
Open the valve by turning the protection cap by about 1 turn.
Instructions of the concrete manufacturers must be observed.
Important information on initial operation:
Set the thermostat "Uni LH" to the desired temperature. If the
room or surface temperature is not achieved, the presetting at the
valve insert (delivered on position "2" can be increased step by
step (highest presetting: "6")
The maximum permissible screed temperatures may not be
exceeded:
– 55 °C for concrete and calcium sulphate screed
– 45 °C for mastic asphalt screed
– or according to the instructions of the concrete manufacturer
If the wall unit was installed too deep, the stem extension 20 mm,
item no. 1022698, can be used.
