3. Product description
3.1 Intended use
The BEA 040 is designed for diesel and gasoline
engine speed measurements.
The BEA 040 is connected to and used in conjunction
with Bosch testers (BEA 030, BEA 055, BEA 060,
BEA 065, BEA 150, BEA 250, BEA 350, BEA 460,
BEA 550, BEA 750, BEA 810, BEA 840, BEA 850,
BEA 950, FSA 7xx).

If the BEA 040 and the supplied accessories
are operated contrary to the way specified by
the manufacturer in the operating instructions,
the protection provided by the BEA 040 and the
supplied accessories may be compromised.
3.2 Scope of delivery

The scope of delivery depends on the product
variant ordered as well as the special accessories
ordered, and can deviate from the following list.

3.3 Functional description
By way of the combi sensor, the BEA 040 measures
the speed from two signal sources:

The structure-borne sound signal of the engine and
R
The air-borne sound signal
The BEA 040 automatically makes use of the more
suitable signal for speed measurement.
