Further towing devices or plate change systems (e.g. class F) and / or coupling balls with bracket (e.g. class
A50-1, A50-X, etc.) and / or automatic drawbar couplings (e.g. class C50, S, etc.) can be attached to this tow
bar.
The rear distance of the coupling point of the coupling ball with bracket or the drawbar coupling from the
attachment surface can be min. 70 mm and max. 159 mm; the upward distance from the lower attachment
points "a" can be min. 23 mm and max. 84.5 mm.
This tow bar is equipped with a coupling ball with bracket (class A50-X, type TB-1, approval number in
accordance with Directive 94/20/EC: e6 00-0101, max. D value: 17.0 kN, max. load on the coupling device:
150 kg) as standard and is attached at "a".
If other components are to be fitted here, always observe the manufacturer's specifications in the respective
assembly instructions and ensure that all the bolts have the correct length.
If a tow bar (four hole pattern) is attached at "a" and "b", plate X also has to be screwed on. This plate can be
purchased: Order No. 932245605002.
General information:
Specifications of the vehicle manufacturer regarding trailer and torque load set the standards for vehicle
operation. Values specified for the tow bar must not be exceeded.
The tow bar should only be used together with a coupling ball with bracket or an automatic drawbar coupling
for towing trailers with a corresponding ball coupling or towing ring. Load bearing implements which are
approved for attachment to the coupling ball can be used with a coupling ball with bracket. Any use other than
the one specified is prohibited. Adapt your driving to the road conditions when towing a trailer. Towing a trailer
affects the handling of a vehicle. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's operating instructions.
If vehicles are fitted with a Parking Distance Control (PDC) system malfunctioning of the system can occur
after tow bar installation since the parts (ball bar, ball coupling) could be located in the detection area of the
sensors. In this case, the detection area should be readjusted or the PDC deactivated. Malfunctioning is not
expected when using tow bars with detachable or pivoted ball bars if the ball bar is removed from its operating
position.
Always observe the standard fixing points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
Always observe national guidelines concerning official approval of extensions.
These installation and operating instructions have to be kept with the vehicle documents.
