Preparations before using for the first time
Check to make sure the appliance is undamaged. In case of any damage, contact your supplier
immediately and do NOT use the appliance.
Remove all the packing material and protection film (if applicable).
Clean the appliance with luke-warm water and a soft cloth.
Place the appliance on a level and steady surface, unless mentioned otherwise.
Make sure there is enough clearance around the appliance for ventilation purposes.
Position the appliance in such a way that the plug is accessible at all times.
First Use
1. Put the filter holder in the appliance.
2. Fill the coffee pot with cold water and pour it in the water reservoir. Wait 20 seconds for the water
to force the air out of the appliance.
3. Place the empty coffee pot in the correct position under the filter pan.
4. Turn the power switch ON.
5. HOT WATER will soon start dripping into the pot.
6. The in-use indicator lamp will turn off in 4 or 5 minutes .
7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 a few times to clean the appliance thoroughly before making coffee for the
first time.
It is normal for steam to escape during this process and for the dripping water to make gurgling
sounds.
► Never pour hot water in the water reservoir.
► Check to make sure that the filter is positioned correctly:
Check if the spring is present at the bottom of the filter pan. If the spring is not present, the
spring will overflow (article number spring: 904206).
Place the filter paper on the spring in the filter holder.
Making coffee
To make coffee follow these steps:
1. Put the filter paper (90/250) in the filter holder and add the desired amount of ground coffee,
depending on your taste. The recommended amount is about 75-90 gr per pot of water (1.6-1.8
litre).
2. Place the filter holder in the appliance.
3. Fill the coffee pot with the desired amount of water and pour it in the water reservoir.
4. Place the empty pot directly under the filter holder.
5. Turn the power switch ON. The in-use indicator lamp will light up to indicate that the machine
has started to operate.
6. After some time coffee will start to drip into the coffee pot.
7. When all of the water has passed through the machine, the in-use indicator lamp will switch off.
8. The coffee is ready to be served.
