STARTING UP
s
1. If the appliance is cleaned and completely assembled and placed on a smooth,
dry, stable and moisture resistant work surface, plug the power plug into a
power outlet. Place a bowl under the opening of the cutting drum.
2. Switch the appliance on with the ON/OFF toggle switch, the red function light
in the switch lights up. If you set the switch to the position I, the drum rotates
at a normal speed. If you set the switch to the position II, the drum rotates very
quickly. Fill the funnel with the foods you wish to chop. The foods might need
GB
to be washed, peeled and cut into pieces small enough to fit into the funnel.
Use the tamper to slowly push the foods down the funnel. Do not apply too
much pressure. It suffices to gently push the foods down. Reduce the pressure
if the appliances seizes or the motor spins too slowly. A potential blocking must
only be removed while the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the
power. Use only the tamper to push the foods down the funnel. Never insert
any other objects or even your hand into the funnel!
3. If the foods have been processed but you still have more to chop, take the
tamper out of the funnel and fill it with food. After that, gently push the foods
down with the tamper.
Caution: Use only the tamper to push food down the funnel. Never reach into
●
the funnel with other items or your hands. Risk of appliance damage or injuries!
Also, never remove potential blockings with your hands or kitchen tools! To
remove blockings, always switch the appliance off, pull the plug and wait for the
appliance to come to a full stop. Never reach into the cutting drum to remove
processed foods while the appliance is in use resp. connected to the power and
avoid contact with the sharp cutting blades.
4. When all required foods have been grated resp. chopped, switch the appliance
off with the ON/OFF switch (position 0), wait for the appliance to come to a full
stop and pull the plug.
5. After usage, disassemble the appliance and clean it as described in the chapters
"Disassembling the Multigrater" (see page 63) and "Cleaning and mainte-
nance" (see page 64).
Caution: Never use the appliance while it is empty, meaning without any food in
the funnel.
If you have used the appliance continuously for 2 minutes, you should
definitely take a break of 2 minutes to prevent the motor from over-
heating.
