SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

General safety instructions
• This appliance may be used by children over 8 years of age and by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities and/or lack of experience and
knowledge and/or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are
supervised by a person responsible for them when using the appliance or have
been instructed in the use of the appliance by such a person and understand the
risks involved in using the appliance.
• Keep children under 8 years of age away from the appliance.
• Supervise children so that they do not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and maintenance of the appliance by children over 8 years of age must
only be carried out under supervision.
• Have a damaged power cord replaced by the manufacturer, the customer service
or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
• Do not use the dryer if chemical detergents have been used for cleaning.
• The lint filter must be cleaned regularly.
• Make sure that no lint accumulates around the dryer.
• Do not dry unwashed clothes in the dryer.
• Clothing that has come into contact with substances such as oil, acetone, alcohol,
methylated spirits, kerosene, stain removers, turpentine, wax and wax remover
should be washed in hot water with an extra portion of detergent before drying in
the dryer.
• Objects such as foam rubber (latex moulded), shower caps, waterproof textiles,
objects with a rubber base and clothing or pillows with foam rubber padding
should not be tumble dried.
• Fabric softeners or similar products should be used as indicated in the instructions
for fabric softeners.
• Never stop the dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are
removed and distributed immediately to allow heat to escape.
• Do not discharge the exhaust air into a fume cupboard used to extract the fumes
from appliances that burn gas or other fuels.
• The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a
door with a hinge on the side opposite the tumble dryer. The door of the tumble
dryer must be designed to prevent it from being opened completely.
• Objects soiled with oil may ignite spontaneously, especially if they are exposed to
heat sources, such as in a tumble dryer.
