Using 160E Series
The 160E is suitable for most types of dust in industrial applications and on
building sites. There are important exceptions, see Chapter '3 Safety'. Oil mist
can clog the filters.
In normal operation, without any electric tool connected, the appliance is
started in mode I. If an electric tool is connected to the 160E, the switch is
normally set in mode II.
In mode II, the appliance starts when the connected tool is started and stops
with a slight delay when the tool is stopped. See Chapter '6.3 Start/Stop' for
further information.
6.1

Connecting and starting

The appliance may only be connected to a grounded power socket with
the voltage as stated on the machine data plate, see Figure 14. Information
about maximum power consumption is also given. Note that the total power
consumption may increase in certain cases of operation with electric tools
connected.
6.2
Cleaning equipment
The CE370 is used for heavy duty cleaning.
The CE370 is used for normal cleaning and industrial cleaning.
The CE370C is equipped with an anti-static suction hose for avoiding
static electricity.
6.3
Start/Stop
Electric tools can be connected to an appliance equipped with electric Start/
Stop. This does not apply to 110–120 V appliance versions. Minimum power
consumption of connected tools for auto-start is 60 W. Maximum permitted
power is stated on the decal located near the power point.
The connection of tools at a higher power could result in electric overload.

Transport and lifting
The 160E can be transported vertically or horizontally, see Figure 12. To avoid
spreading any hazardous dust during transportation, the vacuum hose should
be disconnected from the inlet so that the flap valve closes.
The hose can be "short-circuited" by connecting the couplings at either end of
the hose. The collecting receptacle must be fitted when transporting and lifting
the appliance. The eccentric catches holding the collecting receptacle must be
secured by locking cotters, see Figure 5.
Remove the cleaning equipment and other loose parts from the appliance
before lifting. Replace sack/bag in the collecting receptacle if it contains large
amounts of heavy material (>10 kg). The appliance weighs 19 kg when empty.
Attach lifting straps to the frame handle to lift the appliance, see Figure 13.
WARNING!
It is prohibited to remain underneath the 160E when lifting. Lifting the 160E
by the handle located on top of the motor assembly is prohibited.
