PIPETMAN 8X200
2) Insufficient lubrication: Remove the liquid
end cover. Lift out the affected nozzle, re-
move and lubricate the piston with a thin film
of silicone grease; then reassemble.
3) Worn piston seal: Remove the liquid end
cover and replace the affected nozzle as-
semblies.
4) Improper reassembly: Remove the liquid
end cover and check the position of the nozzle
assemblies, ensuring that the nozzle locating
keys are pressed into the locating slots.
5) Tips do not fit properly: Use only Gilson
D200 Tips and Gilson Tipack racks.
NOZZLE REMOVAL
Set the pipette volume to zero.
Undo the two Phillips screws situated at the
back of the liquid end cover.
Undo the four Phillips screws from the front of
the liquid end cover and lift off the front cover
(see
Fig.
1H).
Lift out the damaged nozzle assembly
This is best done by grasping the nozzle body
and pulling up and out from the liquid end. The
nozzle body may slide off the piston. If this
happens, remove the piston separately.
NOZZLE REPLACEMENT
In order to secure a nozzle assembly in a
station:
1) Position the replacement nozzle assembly
directly above the vacant position.
2) Push the piston clip
bar slot
(Fig.
2C). The clip will compress
slightly as you press it into place.
3) Engage the nozzle body locating key
in the locating slot in the liquid end box
2E). This should be a snug fit. The nozzle
should not move when you try to twist it. All
nozzles should line up evenly.
