Switching Devices Between Computers
The color-coded indicator lights on your ShareCentral indicate which devices are
assigned to which computer.
A solid light indicates that the device
is assigned to Computer 1.
A solid light indicates that the device is assigned
to Computer 2.
You can switch devices between computers using the buttons on the ShareCentral, or
switch all the devices by pressing a hotkey (refer to the section titled "Using a Hotkey
on Your Computer"
for details). For the ShareCentral 2/ShareCentral 5, you can also turn on a setting to
have all devices switched to one computer when the other computer disconnects from
the ShareCentral.
CAUTION: Make sure that a device is not being used by one computer before you
switch it to another. For example, make sure that no data is being transferred if you
want to switch an external hard drive. Switching a device while it is in use may cause
loss or corruption of data.
For the ShareCentral 2/ShareCentral 5, see "File Corruption Protection," below, for
more information on this issue.
